Usually, family members from the British royal family cannot interact in an affectionate manner other than smiling and talking to each other. A friendly hand gesture or occasional hug to greet someone can be seen, but nothing too tender.

Even when they are overly excited, happy, and filled with loving emotions, royals know they must keep composure in public, and so seeing anyone from the royal family, let alone the Prince and Princess of Wales, express their affection is the cherry on top of the cake.
Curiously enough, this does not break royal tradition since it is allowed to have a public display of affection during the Royal Charity Polo Cup. Royal fans are surely excited to see the pair share joy from Prince William's victory.
