Prince William and his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II are well known to have a grand time with each other when performing Royal engagements together. Now they are reunited in her first public engagement since she returned to Windsor.
Queen Elizabeth and Prince William Reunited
94-year-old Queen Elizabeth and her eldest grandchild 39-year-old Prince William have reunited for her first public appearance since returning from isolation at Balmoral. The two visited the Defense Science and Technology Laboratory to officially open the Energetics Analysis Centre.
As reported by Hello! all 48 who came into contact with the pair had been tested for the coronavirus and had taken as much safety precaution as possible. Her Majesty even came by helicopter while William took a car. This marks the first joint Royal engagement that the two of them have done since July 2017 when they visited the families affected by the tragic Grenfell Tower Fire.
The Queen and Duke were taken on a tour of the Energetics enclosure and Analysis Centre to see the weapons and tactics used in counterintelligence, a Forensic Explosives Investigation demonstration, and to meet with the Counter-Terrorism and Security staff. It is safe to say the Royals were in very good hands during the visit.
The pair also met with the DSTL staff who identified the nerve agent used in the terrorist Novichok attack on British soil in 2018 and the scientists behind the COVID-19 response team.
Queen Elizabeth and Prince William's Royal Unveiling
The Queen made an adorable joke while she and her grandson were signing the guest book saying, "Well it proves we've been here, doesn't it?" The two also theatrically unveiled a gorgeous plaque to formally open the DSTL's brand new £30 million Energetics Analysis Centre used for counter-terrorism work.
Queen Elizabeth II was wearing a beautiful and elegant rose cashmere coat and matching hat and wore an accessory that had an added sentimental value. She donned the Andrew Grima yellow gold, diamond ruby brooch that was gifted to her by her lovely husband Prince Philip back in 1966!
Her daughter in law, Duchess Kate also brought incredible fashion at her most recent Royal engagement, see the photos here!
