Lilibet Diana, the adorable daughter of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, just turned three, and oh boy, did the royal couple go all out for their little princess! According to inside sources from People magazine, the Montecito-based family celebrated Lili's big day with a bang over the weekend, hosting a fabulous party for close friends, family, and a few of Lili's pint-sized pals.
Lilibet is growing up away from the light
Born in June 2021, after her parents famously stepped back from their royal duties and jetted off to the Los Angeles area, Lilibet Diana was named in a touching tribute to her late great-grandmother (Queen Elizabeth II's childhood nickname) and Harry's late mother, Princess Diana.
Unlike her brother, Prince Archie, who had his baby days captured in a few official snaps, Lili's life has been kept more under wraps. The world caught its first glimpse of this cutie in her parents' 2021 Christmas card and then again in a portrait released by photographer Misan Harriman at her first birthday bash in Windsor.
While Lili didn't tag along with her globe-trotting parents on their recent mission to Nigeria, Meghan couldn't help but gush about her during the trip.
Speaking to students at the Lightway Academy, Meghan shared that Lili's top class is "singing and dancing." But it was at a mental health summit where Meghan shared a heartwarming anecdote about Lili, revealing a moment of profound connection between mother and daughter.
She told a small group of students at the Lightway Academy that her daughter’s “favorite class” is “singing and dancing.” In her speech for the summit, the duchess mentioned an anecdote about Lili looking into her eyes and saying something surprisingly profound.
Meghan's touching story
"Our daughter, Lili — she’s much, much tinier than you guys. She’s about to turn 3. A few weeks ago, she looked at me and she would just see the reflection in my eyes. And she [says] ‘Mama, I see me in you,’" Meghan said.
"Now, she was talking really, literally. But I hung onto those words in a very different way,” she added. “And I thought, yes, I do see me in you, and you see me in you, but as I look around this room, I see myself in all of you as well."
This touching moment, Meghan explained, held a deeper meaning for her, emphasizing the bond and reflection seen within families and communities.
