On October 2, Princess Kate and Prince William, both 42, met 16-year-old Liz Hatton from Harrogate, England, at Windsor Castle. According to the BBC, Liz was diagnosed in January with a desmoplastic small round cell tumor, a rare and aggressive cancer with a life expectancy of six months to three years.
Prince William, who learned about Liz through the London Air Ambulance Charity, invited her to pursue her passion for photography. As part of her "photography bucket list," Liz had the opportunity to photograph the investiture ceremonies.
In one of the photos shared by the royals, Princess Kate is seen warmly embracing the young photographer—such a touching moment. Another picture features the royal couple alongside Liz and her family.
"A pleasure to meet with Liz at Windsor today. A talented young photographer whose creativity and strength has inspired us both," wrote the Prince and Princess of Wales on Instagram. According to 'People', the royals spent time privately with Liz and her loved ones after the ceremony.
This meeting highlighted the special bond between Liz and Princess Kate, who is not only a keen amateur photographer but also the patron of the Royal Photographic Society. They also share a common connection in their fight against cancer.
