Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi have ventured south for their honeymoon! But it turns out their current destination—France—is only the first stop for the newlyweds. Here are all the details on Beatrice and Edoardo's honeymoon plans.
Princess Beatrice & Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi's honeymoon
Reports first placed Beatrice and Edoardo in south France over the July 25-26 weekend. Daily Mail shared the account of a tourist who noticed them driving "a small car absolutely packed to the roof with stuff."
"It was such a surprise to see them," the source said. "Edo was behind the wheel and they looked just like any other couple enjoying the beautiful drive." The tourist had sharp vision too, as sources have confirmed that the honeymoon in France got underway not too long after the couple's secret July 17 wedding.
On July 27, a royal insider told People that Beatrice and Edoardo are enjoying a "small honeymoon" at the moment. Though, the source adds, "they have a longer more luxurious honeymoon planned for August."
Where will Beatrice & Edoardo head next to celebrate their wedding?
For the August getaway, the couple reportedly have eyes on a trip to Lamu Island, near Kenya. Edoardo's family owns property on the island, which would serve as the upcoming honeymoon destination.
Daily Mail's report also revealed that due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the last-minute nature of the royal wedding, the couple was limited on honeymoon options. The getaway to France nearly didn't happen, but they did choose to cross the Channel and hit the road in celebration of their union.
Princess Beatrice married Mapelli Mozzi, a property developer, in a secret ceremony at the Royal Chapel of All Saints on July 17. The private event's guest list was limited to the closest family members, and only a handful of wedding photos have been released at this time. The daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, Beatrice has only been seen with her husband as well as the Queen and Prince Philip in the officially released photos.
