Prince William is a well-known fan of Aston Villa F.C., who compete in the Premier League. "Villa" on Sunday matched up against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup Finals game. The Prince's favourite team came up short, however, dropping the match 2-1.
But the Duke of Cambridge was spotted cheering when Aston Villa scored its lone goal in the game.

Prince William, Duke of Cambridge: More public appearances
The Aston Villa match capped a busy week of public appearances for the Prince.
It was also an uncharacteristically "emotional" week for the typically reserved royal. He was earlier seen placing an arm around his wife, Duchess Catherine, when they attended the theatre in London.
The cute gesture was noted as a rare public display of affection for a royal couple.

Prince William: Aston Villa Football Club fan
Prince William reportedly met with Aston Villa's players in their locker room before the game. He's previously explained his reason for cheering on Aston Villa:
"I wanted to have a team that was more mid-table that could give me more emotional rollercoaster moments. I have got friends of mine who support Aston Villa and one of the first FA Cup games I went to was Bolton vs. Aston Villa back in 2000."
"It was the atmosphere, the camaraderie and I really felt that there was something I could connect with."
