Prince William (36) will be king of Great Britain one day. His grandmother Queen Elizabeth II. (92) has mentored him since he was a teenager and has tried to prepare him for the various duties and responsibilities he will one day have to shoulder as a monarch.
Queen Elizabeth is Prince William's role model
Historian Robert Lacey revealed in an interview with People magazine that "when William became a teenager, she would have him at Windsor Castle and would open the state boxes and guide him through the papers. It was William’s constitutional education.” Prince William will probably be a more modern monarch than his grandmother though.
The Duke of Cambridge paid tribute to his grandmother in an interview with the BBC last year, in which he paid tribute to the Queen, heralding her as a "guiding example" of what a good monarch should be.
At the moment, Prince William still has time to concentrate on raising his family as Prince Charles (70) is currently next in line to the throne, although we're delighted that the Queen still seems to be going strong and so it may be quite some time before Prince Charles is king, and so even longer until William's coronation.
