Prince William Checks In With New Zealand Muslim Community Following 2019 Terrorist Attack

Prince William has checked in with the New Zealand Muslim community he met last year during his visit to Christchurch on ANZAC Day following the heartbreaking terrorist attacks.

The Duke of Cambridge joined members of the Christchurch Muslim community on a video call on Thursday. He had met the representatives from the Al-Noor and Linwood mosques as well as the Muslim Association of Canterbury last year when he visited Auckland on ANZAC Day to to pay tribute to those affected by the Christchurch mosques terrorist attack that happened in April 2019.

On the call, Prince William spoke to the Imams and representatives from the mosques about how they and their respective communities are doing 14 months after the attacks.

Prince William: "I'm really proud of all of you"

"I'm really proud of all of you, the whole community and the New Zealand Government for how you have all dealt with such an atrocity. You are a role model for how something so tragic can be negotiated with the utmost grace and dignity," William told everyone present on the call.

When Prince William visited New Zealand in 2019, he not only met mam Alani Lateef, Imam Gamal Fouda and Farid Ahmad (who were all on the call), but he also met survivors of the horrific Christchurch terrorist attack, along with their families and first responders.
