The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have confirmed on their official Instagram account, Kensington Palace, that their Heads Up campaign with the Football Association (FA) will be launched this coming Sunday, August 4th.
Prince William: "We all have mental health"
In the video, Prince William describes that this coming season, football fans will get the chance and be encouraged to talk about their mental health as if it's an everyday thing, which it is. They stated, "#HeadsUp will harness the influence and popularity of football to help show the nation that we all have mental health, and it is just as important as physical health."
Heads Up Campaign Run During 2019/2020 Football Season
The news was first released about the campaign back in May and the initiative will take place over the course of the 2019/2020 season and will culminate at the FA Cup Final in May 2020. Prince William wants to get football fans talking, in particular men, about their mental fitness and the importance of mental health. He says that he has found in the past that men find talking about mental health very difficult and that's part of what he would like to change.
