Duchess Camilla has shared an update on Prince Philip's health on his 15th day in hospital. As ITV reported, today, Camilla said that the Duke of Edinburgh is "slightly improving" in hospital. However, she added, he also "hurts at moments."
Prince Philip update: Camilla says he's "slightly improving"
The comments came on Wednesday while the Duchess of Cornwall was visiting a COVID-19 vaccination site in Croydon, South London. At the vaccination centre, Camilla also said of her father-in-law: "We keep our fingers crossed."
Last week, it was revealed that the 99-year-old Duke was being treated for an infection. But, on Monday, he was transferred from King Edward VII's Hospital to St. Bartholomew's Hospital for tests and observation for a "pre-existing heart condition."
Royal Family: "Fingers crossed" on Prince Philip news
When Philip was moved to the new hospital on Monday, Buckingham Palace said: "The Duke remains comfortable and is responding to treatment but is expected to remain in hospital until at least the end of the week."
Duchess Camilla's update on Prince Philip also echoes the well wishes of the Duke's son, Prince Edward, who last week said his father was doing "a lot better" and reiterated the "fingers crossed" message.
The Duke of Edinburgh was admitted to hospital on Feb. 16 after feeling "unwell," a condition that was later revealed to be an infection and now possibly a heart-related issue. We wish him well in his continued recovery.
