Prince Harry celebrated 125 years of the Rugby Football League via video chat on Saturday and also talked about his son Archie as well as their new home in California. The Duke of Sussex spoke about his lifelong love for the sport of rugby with St. Helens Women’s Super League players Gemma Walsh and Emily Rudge, Leeds Rhinos and England star Jamie Jones-Buchanan (and his son Kurgan), Newcastle Thunder’s Jordan Robinson, and academy player Alex Donaghy as well as volunteer Fionna Everson.
Prince Harry wants Archie to play Rugby at their new home
During the video call, Prince Harry also talked about how he wants to get Archie into rugby at their new home in Montecito, California: "What I need is a few mini rugby balls that I can then get Archie involved with the game because at the moment it’s impossible to find any,” said the Duke, who is actually the patron of the Rugby Football league.
He and his wife Duchess Meghan (formerly Meghan Markle) moved into a new home recently after spending their first months in the U.S. at actor and director Tyler Perry's house in Hollywood. Their new place apparently is perfect for him and Archie to start practicing some rugby: "[...] I've got a little space outside, which I'm fortunate enough to have so I need to get him playing some Rugby League."
According to a report from ET Canada, the house they purchased is a nine-bedroom, 16-bathroom home which includes amenities like a library, a spa, a gym, and so on, the works! And Harry seems to know how lucky he and his family are:
"I'm just unbelievably fortunate and grateful to have outdoor space and see my son be able to be outside because I know so many people just haven’t had that opportunity in the last five months," Harry said during the video call, referring to the COVID-19 pandemic.
We certainly can't wait for some new pictures of little Archie to see how much he has already grown in the past months. It sounds like Harry, Meghan, and Archie are living a great life inside their new home in California...!
