- The Invictus Games are held in Germany this year
- Prince Harry will once again MC the entire event
- He has revealed his feelings ahead of the competition
As a former serviceman in the British armed forces, the games have become a bit of a top priority for Harry in recent years, since he is indeed the public face of the event to the world. Since his tiff with the royal family became public, one of the chief constants in Harry's life has in fact been the games! And for many around the world, that's when Harry's best qualities come to the floor. This year, Prince Harry is both excited and nervous to get things going.
The Invictus Games look to be better than ever
The Duke of Sussex, 38, featured in a new video sharing a message with the upcoming athletes competing in this year's edition of the games. This time around, the event is taking place in just one month in Düsseldorf, Germany! Fans of the games and of Harry's could get a quick glimpse of his thoughts ahead of the games.
The video was originally shared on social media by Invictus Games Nigeria chapter on Thursday before being reposted by the Invictus Games Foundation. In it, you can see Harry casually talking to the camera in front of a book shelf.
Also interesting:
"Hi, everybody. Well, well, well...we are exactly one month away from creating a home for respect in Düsseldorf 2023 for the next Invictus Games. I hope you're excited. I'm probably a little bit nervous — I'm both. But I can't wait to see all of you and have the whole community together once again — it's been too long."
Harry was mindful to point out the fact that some competitors will be attending the Games for the first time while others might be returning again. "Either way, there will be an element of excitement as well as nervousness, and I'm sure some of you have been waiting for this moment for a very long time. You're all on different parts of your healing journey — we all are, we always will be — but I can assure you that this experience will hopefully be life changing, and you will come out of it a better person for sure," Harry explained.
But he also took time to point out Israel, Nigeria and Colombia for joining the game for this year's edition. "I can't wait to have every continent represented — except Antarctica. We're still working on that," he said jokingly.
As the event approaches, Harry will be showing up more and more to remind athletes of why they are there in the first place. We for one can't wait for these Invictus Games! And neither can Harry...
