This morning, Netflix announced that it signed a multiyear agreement with the production company of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for the creation of documentaries, films, documentary series and exclusive children's programs for the platform.

"Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope," the couple commented in a statement taken by The New York Times. "As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us," they added, noting that Netflix's "unprecedented reach will help us share impactful content that unlocks action."

Netflix: A Multiyear Deal With Harry and Meghan

From their arrival in California in the middle of 2020, much had been rumored about the interest of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to get involved in the creation of multimedia content.

Although previously it had been that the royal couple would work with NBC and Spotify, Netflix was the company that ended up enchanting the couple.

"We’re incredibly proud they have chosen Netflix as their creative home and are excited about telling stories with them that can help build resilience and increase understanding for audiences everywhere," said Ted Sarandos, Co-CEO and Chief Content Officer from Netflix.

The content that Harry and Meghan will produce for the company have not yet been defined, but it is expected that these will be announced and start production soon.
