Charles says the fuel for his eco-friendly car "smells delicious"
Prince Charles's Aston Martin is surprisingly environmentally friendly thanks to the unique conversion he made for his car fuel back in 2008! That's because his car runs on bioethanol made from wine and cheese. "They discovered they could run it on surplus English white wine, but also I hadn’t realised that they had mixed whey into it too,” Prince Charles had told The Telegraph in 2018.
While Charles says initially the engineers at Aston Martin were skeptical of his alternative fuel plan, he reveals that they eventually came around. Now, he says that they readily admit his Aston Martin DB6 "runs better and is more powerful on that fuel than it is on petrol".
Charles... Prince Charles: his visit to the new Bond film's set
Charles shared his love of the Aston Martin with a big name Hollywood star over the summer, who happened to be none other than James Bond himself, Daniel Craig! Charles was spotted visiting the set of the then-untitled Bond film, now called No Time To Die, which uses the classic car in many of its action scenes. According to People, the film's producer Barbara Broccoli said that Charles "had a lot to talk about with Daniel. They both have a love for Aston Martin. Boys with toys!”
Charles' vintage car was also used for a big royal event... William and Kate's wedding! Prince William and Duchess Catherine used the Aston Martin DB6 as their getaway car following the ceremony back in 2011, adorning it with ribbons and a license plate reading "JU5T WED".
