Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will be giving birth to their first girl very soon and the world is so excited to meet her. The Sussexes have given hints at which names they like for girls!
What Will Meghan And Harry's Baby Girl Going To Be Named?
When Meghan was pregnant with baby Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, she did not know if she was going to have a boy or a girl. The pair waited until he was born to find out. So in 2019 during a visit to Birkenhead, Meyerside, Harry and Meghan took the opportunity to ask the young girls attending their ideas for a girl's name.
According to Hello!, Meghan asked an 11-year-old Ivon Chen, "What name do you think I should call her?" Ivon suggested "Amy" which prompted Meghan to point to her secretary Amy Pickerill who had the same name. She said, "That's a really pretty name, I like it, we'll have to think about it."
Harry was also canvassing the public for good girl names, and liked the name suggested by a Primary School worker: "Lily."
Although Meghan has a strained relationship with her father Thomas Markle who blackmailed his daughter live on air, she has a great relationship with her mother Doria Ragland. So the pair may name their daughter after Doria, Harry's mother Princess Diana, or Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.
Major booking sites are taking bets on what the Sussexes will name their Royal baby. The current favorite bet by the public is "Diana," followed by "Allegra," "Isabella," and "Phillippa." On many sites like Betfair, Bookies Coral, and OddsMonkey, many believe the pair will choose a name that starts with the letter A to match Archie. "Allegra" is popular on each of the sites as it is rumoured to be the name Princess Diana would have used if she had a daughter.
We will have to wait and see! 2021 is a real baby boom in the Royal family so the public is itching to hear what the new generation will be called!
