Meghan Markle will be returning to the world of film and TV, but this time it will be her father's doing.
This week, Thomas Markle Sr. announced that he's preparing a new documentary about his daughter and their currently strained relationship. In an interview with The Sun, Mr. Markle, 76, said that the documentary—still untitled—will address fragments of his life, his early years as a father, and the moment when everything "went wrong" between him and his daughter. Here's what to know about the film on Duchess Meghan.
Meghan Markle's father is making a documentary about her
After many previous comments on conflicts with his daughter, Thomas Markle Sr. is again determined to speak on his life as a father and the complicated relationship he has with the Duchess of Sussex.
This week, The Sun published an interview with Mr. Markle in which he revealed that he's planning a new documentary on his daughter's life and where matters "went wrong" in their relationship.
"It begins with my life, my family, my love of theatre and television and how I got there. Then my life with Meghan, growing up, her school days until she went off to college, and when her career began," he told The Sun. "We had a good life together, up through her first marriage and her move to Canada. Then a new story begins! It's kind of like 'What happened to my baby girl.'"

During the conversation, Mr. Markle also assured that the documentary will be different from other recent works of this type, since it will contain materials about Meghan that have never been seen before.
"My documentary will have some new videos and my favourite photo of my 'baby girl' and we try to figure out what went wrong. I think we will do a good job," said Markle Sr., a film lighting director and two-time Emmy winner.
He did not speak further about the project, but Mr. Markle hopes the documentary will be ready for release later this year. He's remained in the headlines in recent months while Meghan battles in court over the publication of a private letter she wrote to him. He also criticized his daughter and son-in-law regarding the release of Finding Freedom in 2020.
