Although Kate Middleton surpasses Meghan Markle when it comes to overall popularity, there is one area where Prince Harry's wife ranks higher than her sister-in-law— style! According to a study conducted by the popular clothing brand PrettyLittleThing, the Duchess of Sussex's looks were the most sought-after on the internet between 2020 and 2021, ahead of many other famous royals.
Markle's outfits considered more popular online than Middleton's
This week, PrettyLittleThing presented the results of an analysis intended to gage the interest of Internet users in the United States and the United Kingdom when it comes to the British royal family's fashion.
It was obvious that Meghan and Kate would appear at the top of the list, with the latter having a clear advantage given her popularity in Europe. However, the study showed that internet users like the outfits worn by the Duchess of Sussex more!
According to the site, clothing worn by Markle was searched about 148,000 times in the past year, while the Duchess of Cambridge's clothing featured in 145,400 searches online.
Meghan and Kate lead list of royal style icons in study
In a statement, the brand commented that Meghan and Kate's presence at the top of their analysis is due to how "they constantly set trends and are great style icons in their own right."
However, the two duchesses were not the only royals whose clothes have been sought after by internet fashionistas in recent months! The analysis from PrettyLittleThing also showed that Sophie, Countess of Wessex, Princess Anne, and Duchess Camilla were included in the searches.
In fact, many were surprised to see that Sophie, Anne, and Camilla had a greater increase in the search for their style between 2020 and 2021 than Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton. Could Meghan's position as the royal with more style be in danger?
