There was a rare crossover between the British and Spanish royals today.
Spain's Queen Letizia is visiting England, and she was welcomed there by none other than Prince Charles. The two royals connected in Bishop Auckland, where they visited a new Spanish art gallery.
Royals: Queen Letizia and Prince Charles meet in England
Queen Letizia, 49, and Prince Charles, 73, first met up at Auckland Castle. The Prince and the Spanish queen exchanged cheek kisses, and he took her hand for another respectful kiss.
Afterward, Prince Charles and Queen Letizia were on their way to The Spanish Gallery. Located in Bishop Auckland, it is the UK's first gallery devoted to the art, history and culture of Spain. It opened in October but got its official royal opening today.
