• King Charles and Prince William are said to be at odds
  • A new book is fanning the flames
  • Things are messy in their royal world

Omid Scobie's book 'Endgame' is creating a buzz, unveiling revelations about the British royal family, some of which are quite surprising.

Scobie asserts that there is a rift between King Charles and Prince William.

Dispute in the royal family?

He contends that Charles harbors feelings of "jealousy" toward William and suggests that a climate of "selfish agendas, a culture of cover-ups, and PR trickery" is impacting the royal family.

Supposedly Charles struggles with the fact that he isn't as popular as his son.

"Charles knows his reign will be a transitional one," says Scobie.

Meanwhile, they both have distinct agendas and approaches to handling public situations in their own way.

William's response to a scandal involving Lady Hussey last year infuriated Charles, prompting the prince to opt for a solo public stance.

In the meantime, it is reported that the two are competing for the spotlight. The extent of truth behind the claims in 'Endgame' is yet to be determined.
