- Princess Kate has been diagnosed with cancer
- When will she be back at work?
- April comeback has been postponed
A week ago, Princess Kate (42) made her cancer diagnosis public. There is no hope of a public comeback any time soon.
No early step back into the public eye
After Princess Kate had initially kept the diagnosis a secret she spoke about her illness for the first time last Friday. The diagnosis came after an abdominal surgery on January 16, 2024.
While Kate is focusing on her recovery, it remains unclear when she will be able to return to her royal duties. The video in which she made her diagnosis public was not an official step back into the public eye. Her comeback will ultimately depend on the advice of her doctors.
While it was initially rumored that she would return after Easter, or at the latest at the beginning of June for the rehearsal for the Trooping the Colour Parade, this speculation seems to have faded.
In the meantime, Kate and Prince William are concentrating on spending time with their children, Prince George (10), Princess Charlotte (8) and Prince Louis (5).
A former palace advisor reports on the royal family: "They are so dedicated to their roles. I think you will find when Kate makes a full recovery, she will come back even more passionate."
Princess Kate will stay out of the public eye during her cancer treatment but will attend events when she feels able.
