Kensington Palace has released a statement about Prince William's wife Kate Middleton.
Kate Middleton Contacted COVID Positive Person
The royal family's statement read: "Last week the Duchess of Cambridge came into contact with someone who has subsequently tested positive for COVID-19. Her Royal Highness is not experiencing any symptoms, but is following all relevant government guidelines and is self-isolating at home."
The royal family had been back to regular public appearances at countless events. Prince William and Duchess Kate were even in attendance at both Wimbledon and the England v. Germany Euro 2020 match. According to Hello!, Kate has taken coronavirus tests before both and closely followed the rules, wearing both masks and Wimbledon.
Now the Duchess of Cambridge will not be able to join the St. Paul's Cathedral thanksgiving service or Buckingham Palace tea party for the NHS's 73rd anniversary that she was looking forward to.
Her husband previously suffered through the virus in secret last year and both have had their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Hopefully, she did not catch the virus, considering Kate strictly followed the mask rules and is partially vaccinated.
Our thoughts are with the Cambridge family.
