Finding Freedom has officially reached new heights in the sales charts.
The book about Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan's relationship and experience as royals came out on Aug. 11, after which it shot to the top of the Amazon charts in the UK and the US. Now, on Aug. 18, Finding Freedom was named a Sunday Times bestseller and the best-selling book in the UK since its release.
Finding Freedom becomes UK bestseller 1 week after release
HarperCollins, the publisher of the book by royal journalists Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, announced the new accomplishments on Aug. 18. HQ Stories, an imprint of the publisher, says the book remains atop the UK Official Top 50 and is now a Sunday Times bestseller.
Scobie reacted on his Twitter page, responding: "Thank you for making #FindingFreedom the best-selling book in the UK and a #1 Sunday Times bestseller. The support and positivity from those that matter truly means everything."
Harry and Meghan news: Finding Freedom sells strong
Daily Mail reported that the book sold 31,000 copies in the UK alone in its first five days on sale. At the end of the seventh day of sales, the book has dropped in the Amazon charts considerably in the US, to 60th, and down to 8th in the UK.
Fully titled Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, the biography has attracted readers due to its tell-all nature and the degree of closeness to Harry and Meghan observed in the book's sources.
To name just a few, notable points in the book have included reveals about tense Sussex-Cambridge relations, Meghan's difficult experiences with royal aides, and Harry and Meghan's courtship.
Finding Freedom was released as an unauthorized biography, and Harry and Meghan released a statement distancing themselves from it. But conflicting reports — including from the authors themselves — have cast doubt on a complete lack of involvement on the part of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
