On Tuesday, Prince William (36) and Duchess Catherine (36) met sick children when they visited the Evelina London Children's Hospital in London. They did some fun Christmas activities with the kids and Catherine wowed the crowd in an elegant green dress by L.K. Bennett.
During the visit, Catherine, who looked rather Christmassy in her green polka dot outfit, was officially appointed as patron of the hospital. The Duchess was very pleased, as she has always been a great supporter of children and young people.
Prince William and Duchess Kate follow in Princess Diana's footsteps
Later during the day, Prince William and Duchess Catherine also paid a visit to The Passage shelter for homeless people in London. They were told about the challenges of homelessness, including but not limited to drug addiction and mental health issues. Prince William and his wife followed in Diana's footsteps with their visit.
This was not the first time, William has been to this homeless centre. 24 years ago, his mother Princess Diana (†36) took him and his brother Prince Harry (34) to the same charity. In 1994, the brothers were age 12 and 10 when they first learned about the challenges of the homeless and it seems as if that visit made a lasting impression as Prince William went back to the centre twice in a private capacity.
