Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla are certainly getting into the Christmas spirit! On Friday, the royal couple took to Instagram to share a brand-new snapshot of them celebrating the holidays together, along with a moving caption.

Charles and Camilla show holiday support for seniors

Charles and Camilla are pictured standing beside a Christmas tree decked out in holiday ornaments, featuring an angel and wreath at the top. Both of them smile broadly in the picture, which was taken at their home of Clarence House. The two royals are expected to remain there for the holidays since many plans have been cancelled, including Queen Elizabeth II's annual Christmas luncheon.

Rather than making the caption for their photo about the tree though, the couple opted to share a selfless holiday request that's close to their hearts. "This Christmas, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall encourage you to remember your older friends and relatives over the festive season," they wrote. Both royals are in their golden years themselves, as Charles turned 73 last month while Camilla is 74.

After sharing a statistic about how over a million seniors are often "more lonely at Christmas than any other time of year," Charles and Camilla also mentioned their respective patronages— Age UK and The Silver Line. They explained the purpose of both services and mentioned that a link can be found in their bio for those wanting to further explore these resources. Earlier this month, the couple also shared their 2021 Christmas card, which received many reactions from fans of the royals!
