- Prince Harry did a round of interviews for his new book Spare
- He made some damaging allegations against the Royal Family
- Here's how Buckingham Palace has handled it so far
"Never complain, never explain" – that's the unofficial motto of the British Royal Family. One who is explaining a lot at the moment is Prince Harry.
With his biography, TV interviews, and exclusive cover stories – the Prince is currently making quite a few details of his life public.
But what does the Palace have to say about it all? There was a little insight in two of Prince Harry's interviews.
How the Royal Family addressed Prince Harry's interviews
Here's how Anderson Cooper of 60 Minutes explained the reaction when he asked the royals for a statement about Harry's allegations: "We reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment.
"Its representatives demanded, before considering responding, 60 Minutes provided them with our report prior to airing it tonight, which is something we never do."
Also interesting:
It was the same reaction to the interview with Good Morning America, as host Michael Strahan revealed at the end of the show:
"We received a response from the law firm representing Buckingham Palace this morning, while we were on the air, saying that the Palace needed to 'consider exactly what is said in the interview, in the context in which it appears,' and asked that we supply them immediately with a copy of the entire interview."
But the station also refused to share the interview with the royals in advance. Accordingly, the Royal Family will probably not comment on the interviews at all.
It remains to be seen if there will be an official statement on Harry's memoirs as well.
Here, the Royal Family will probably stick to its well-known motto again...
