In 2020, music was arguably more important than ever. Due to the Coronavirus, people were stuck at home a lot, and Spotify was there to provide a much-needed distraction. Spotify's data is compiled at the end of each year for an annual review. Let's take a look at the artists and songs that topped the streaming charts in 2020!

Streaming platforms like Spotify have truly changed the music industry and how we listen to our favourite songs. Luckily, they allow us easier access to artists like the Puerto Rican rapper/singer Bad Bunny. The star has landed on the playlists of many users with hit songs like "Un Dia", and that's why he can enjoy the title of the most-streamed artist of the year on Spotify. With that being said, the rap superstar Drake came in second place on the list and Latin singer J Balvin in third.

In the women's category, hit-maker Billie Eilish had tremendous success just like last year. The young superstar was the most streamed female artist in 2020.
