- Sussexes will release a documentary series
- Here's the first look
Prince Harry (40) and Duchess Meghan (43) are set to release their latest project with Netflix: a five-part documentary series titled 'POLO,' focusing on the intense rivalries and demanding training of the US Open Polo Championship. Produced by the Sussexes, the series offers an in-depth look at the sport and is set to premiere globally on Netflix on December 10.
A look into the world of polo
The series, filmed in Florida, dives into the dedication and skill required to compete at the highest level of polo. According to Netflix, 'POLO' promises to showcase the "fierce rivalries and intense training" that define the sport, offering unprecedented insights into the lives and careers of top polo talents.
Polo has long been a cherished tradition within the British royal family. Introduced by King George VI, the sport has been passionately embraced by Prince William and Prince Harry, both of whom began playing at a young age. Renowned player Malcolm Borwick highlighted Harry's boundary-pushing nature on the field, while Prince William's skill at adapting to playing left-handed was also praised.
The sport has also been a platform for memorable royal moments, from the iconic kisses shared between King Charles and Lady Diana to Harry and Meghan's affectionate celebrations after matches.
Netflix's partnership with the Sussexes
'POLO' is part of the multi-million-euro Netflix deal signed by Harry and Meghan four years ago. This agreement has already yielded several successful projects, including the record-breaking 2022 series 'Harry & Meghan,' the motivational series 'Live to Lead '(released New Year’s Eve 2022), and 'Heart of Invictus' (released last year).
The couple’s collaboration with Netflix is far from over. Duchess Meghan is reportedly working on an upcoming series that will explore themes of friendship, cooking, and gardening, further expanding the Sussexes' creative portfolio.
'POLO' marks another milestone in the couple’s Netflix journey, blending Harry’s royal heritage with their passion for storytelling.
