Brenda Lee's "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree" would come near the beginning of the talented American singer's career. Born December 11, 1944 in Atlanta, Georgia, Brenda Lee was just 13 years old when she recorded the Christmas staple.
However, Brenda Lee would get her start much earlier than 13 thanks to her distinctive voice. By the age of six, she had won her first local singing contest and by ten years old she was the main source of her family's income.

Brenda Lee's "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree" would prove to be the biggest hit of her career. After rising to more prominence for her rockabilly style during the late 1950s, Brenda Lee would record the Christmas classic.
While "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree" is one of the biggest Christmas hits today, when it was first released in 1958 it would only sell 5,000 copies. Despite its rough start, the song would slowly gain more and more recognition over the years, and by the song's third release, its sales would skyrocket!
In fact, the song is still as popular as it was in the 1960s if not more so today! In 2009, Brenda received a Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award for the song, and in 2019, "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" would reach number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart!
