The National Board of Review Annual Awards Gala took place on Wednesday night and Adam Sandler was among the winners for his role in Uncut Gems. He won in the Best Actor category and received the award from his long-time friend and on-screen partner Drew Barrymore, who had some kind words for him.

Sandler took the stage and got emotional when thanking Barrymore: "I'm glad we met and I'm glad we did all...and we always make our movies together and I love you, buddy. And I love your kids and I love everything about you."

Sandler and Barrymore DO have quite the history together. They've played an on-screen couple three times already, starting with the 1998 movie The Wedding Singer. They proved their amazing chemistry again in the 2004 comedy hit 50 First Dates and then starred together for a third time in 2014 in the family comedy Blended.
Sandler, who has always played the funnyman in movies, then made a joke about the fact that HE won in the Best Actor category for a dramatic role and said in disbelief: "And I know [Robert] DeNiro's nervous around me now. You've done some good s--t but you know...".
