But last week, Ben Affleck found himself in hot water after an interview with radio host Howard Stern where he seemed to blame his ex-wife Jennifer Garner for his recurring bouts with alcoholism. Many fans from the Twitterverse reacted negatively towards Affleck and chastised him for what they felt were out of place and unfortunate comments toward Garner, when he is now starting a new relationship with Lopez.
“I’d probably still be drinking. It’s part of why I started drinking … because I was trapped,” Affleck told Stern. Although he later appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to clear the air about what he meant regarding his ex-wife, but for many the damage was already done!

“It just made me out to be the worst, most insensitive, stupid, awful guy. That’s not true,” Affleck told Kimmel. “I don’t believe that — it’s the exact opposite of who I am, what I believe … It hurts my feelings, man.”
As is that weren't enough, it was reported by sources close to the couple that Jennifer Lopez was "fuming" at being dragged into the story when she had nothing to do with it. Well, as it turns out that wasn't exactly true! She sat down with People magazine for an interview where she addressed the rumors of her alleged anger at Ben Affleck for how he handled the whole thing.
“This story is simply not true,” Lopez said. “It is not how I feel.” She made it clear that she is more than happy with her new relationship. “I couldn’t have more respect for Ben as a father, a co-parent, and a person.”
She went on to add that their relationship is in a more mature place than it was the first time around, because they are both wiser and older now and can handle these media storms more comfortably.
According to sources at People, the couple is looking forward to spending the holiday season together and welcoming the new year in style. Fans will hope that this story has been put to bed, because the excitement of seeing them together again has made a lot of people very happy!
