Jonathan Van Ness isn't happy with J.K. Rowling's views on biological sex, and he wasn't afraid to share his opinion with the world! As People reports, Rowling made a tweet on Saturday where she implied that she doesn't agree with the term "people who menstruate."
That's because according to Rowling, "if sex isn’t real, the lived reality of women globally is erased." However, Van Ness certainly didn't agree with the Harry Potter author's bold statement, taking to Twitter himself to voice his disagreement.

Van Ness jumped in to share his thoughts on Rowling's tweet, calling her out for her ignorant comments. "Trans women are women," Van Ness tweeted. "Trans Black people & trans non-Black people are discriminated against every single day. They’re dying. We’re fighting for Black people & trans people and you’re doing this?"
As People shares, in a separate tweet Van Ness also voiced his regret for having been involved in a project where celebrities read chapters of the first Harry Potter book. "I’m so f---ing mad I read the Sorting Hat @jk_rowling," he said. Van Ness also encouraged his Twitter followers to donate to the Homeless Black Trans Woman Fund.
