Marvelous Mrs. Maisel "Joel", aka Michael Zegen, was born and raised Jewish in New Jersey and cultivated an interest in acting at an early age. Before The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Michael starred in smaller roles on episodes of shows like The Walking Dead and Boardwalk Empire.
He finally landed his dream role in 2017 when he was cast as "Joel Maisel" and it wouldn't take audiences long to fall in love with the handsome and talented actor.
Marvelous Mrs. Maisel "Joel"
Marvelous Mrs. Maisel "Joel" is a hard character to love at first. Not only is he really bad at stand-up, but the series starts out with him cheating on his loving wife "Miriam" (Rachel Brosnahan).
We follow his character as he fails to make a dream career in stand-up comedy to watching his wife take the spotlight that he so desperately wanted. While "Joel" and "Midge" fail to make their marriage work, "Joel" eventually becomes the ex-husband we all love to root for and he stays supportive of "Midge" as she follows her dreams.
Michael Zegen's Success on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Michael Zegen has starred in all three seasons of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel so far, which has won the Golden Globe for Best Television Series-Musical or Comedy in 2017 and the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2018.
The 41-year-old actor has most recently starred in the 2020 comedy film, The Stand-In alongside Drew Barrymore, and we cannot wait to see what is in store for The Marvelous Mrs. Masiel "Joel" in season four!
