Marvelous Mrs. Maisel "Jackie" got his start in the 1980s after attending the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York City. Some of Brian Tarantina's earlier films include 1984's The Cotton Club and Bed of Roses in 1996.
He also appeared on many television series including the soap opera One Life to Live where he played the character of "Lucky Lippman" from 1990-1991 and "Ray Castillo" in 2004. Brian is also remembered for his appearance on The Sopranos and most notably for his time on Gilmore Girls, where he played the role of "Bootsy".

Marvelous Mrs. Maisel "Jackie" was Brian Tarantina's most recent role, where he starred alongside Alex Borstein as the manager of a local comedy club. He had a reoccurring role in the past 3 seasons of the show, which has won numerous awards including:
- the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy in 2017
- the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2018
- the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Ensemble in a Comedy Series 2019
Brian Tarantina will be missed
Before his passing, Brian Tarantina had been recovering from a heart-related issue. On November 2, 2019, Tarantina was found unresponsive in his apartment in New York City. Only 60 years old, his cause of death has been concluded as a drug overdose.
Brian is survived by his son Sean and many of the stars of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, including Rachel Brosnahan, took to social media to express their regret of Tarantina's passing. We sure do miss our favorite Gaslight emcee The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel "Jackie"!
