Corey Feldman has surely had a rollercoaster of a career, bridging the controversies of his personal life into his latest documentary film. His career began as an adventuresome boy in films like Stand By Me and The Goonies and has more recently appeared in reality TV shows...
The Goonies' Corey Feldman: the past and now
A California native, Corey Feldman was born on July 16, 1971, and started his career in a McDonald's commercial at the age of three. As a child actor, he appeared in over 50 television series, including Cheers and One Day at a Time, and in over 100 TV commercials!
His first major film roles were in the '80s in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984), Gremlins (1984), The Goonies (1985), and Stand By Me (1986). He and co-star Corey Haim became known as "The Two Coreys", as the pair starred in The Lost Boys (1987), License to Drive (1988) and Dream a Little Dream (1989) together.
Today, Corey has been an advocate for children in the entertainment industry, stating that many are often sexually abused. He told The Guardian in a recent interview:
“The biggest problem in Hollywood is paedophilia. [...] Nobody wants to go after the bad guys."
Since the death of his best friend Corey Haim in 2010, Feldman has been vastly outspoken about the abuses that both he and Haim allegedly faced during their time as Hollywood child stars. Just this year, Feldman released his documentary film, My Truth: The Rape of 2 Coreys, where he commentates on these particular issues within the industry.
Prior to this film, Feldman had been open about his substance abuse issues that he has struggled with for most of his career. He and his wife of four years, Courtney Anne Mitchell, also appeared together on the reality series Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars to help make amends in their marriage.
Feldman has one son from his previous marriage to model Susie Sprague. He has been married to Courtney Anne Mitchell since 2016.
We're sure we'll be hearing more about Corey and his allegations in the press, as it's still an ongoing heated topic. For now, whatever lies ahead for Mr. Feldman, we wish him and his family the best!
