Taylor Swift is gearing up to release her latest re-recorded album, and now "Swifties" will be getting an extra-special video to go along with it! On Friday, the star announced that she has turned her fan favourite song "All Too Well" into a short film, dropping a teaser trailer for it a week in advance.

Swift to star with Sadie Sink and Dylan O'Brien

Swift premiered the "All Too Well" trailer on Good Morning America, which had teased a "world exclusive reveal" from the pop star a day prior. While the 30-second clip does not show any actual footage from the short film, it announces the cast as well as the November 12 release date. Swift has written and directed the project, which she will be starring in alongside Stranger Things star Sadie Sink and The Maze Runner's Dylan O'Brien.

November 12 will also see Swift drop RED (Taylor's Version), the re-recorded version of her fourth studio album, coming just a little over half a year after she debuted Fearless (Taylor's Version). The singer announced the album's release earlier this year, revealing that it would contain several bonus tracks "from the vault" as well as the long-rumoured 10-minute version of "All Too Well". Of course, this means that Swift will have had even more lyrics to draw upon for inspiration when making the short!

Swift never released "All Too Well" as a single, but it is widely considered one of the most iconic songs in her catalogue. Originally from the 2012 version of RED, many have speculated that it is about Swift's relationship with ex Jake Gyllenhaal. With powerful lyrics like "And you call me up again just to break me like a promise/So casually cruel in the name of being honest," the heart-wrenching ballad has struck a chord with many "Swifties". And given the the source material it's based on, it seems likely the short film will do the same!
