The family of Bruce Willis has shared a sad update. They say his condition has progressed, following an initial diagnosis with aphasia in 2022.
Bruce's wife Emma made the difficult announcement on Instagram. She started by thanking all for the love and support since Bruce was originally diagnosed.
"In the spirit of that," she wrote, "we wanted to give you an update about our beloved husband, father and friend, since we now have a deeper understanding of what he is experiencing."

"Since we announced Bruce's diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce's condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD)," wrote Emma Heming Willis.

"Unfortunately," she continued, "challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease Bruce faces. While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis."
With the heartbreaking update, Emma shared a sweet photo of Bruce Willis enjoying a day at the beach. Willis retired from acting in early 2022 after his aphasia diagnosis.
