Dame Angela Lansbury is a living legend. The English star is probably best known for her role as "Jessica Fletcher" on the beloved series Murder, She Wrote.
But she's had a long screen and stage career with five Tony wins, three Oscar nods and another 18 Emmy nominations. Her work dates back to the 1940s, and she's actually still been acting now in her 90s!
Murder, She Wrote: Angela Lansbury today at age 96
For the English actress, the roles have understandably slowed in the last few years. It doesn't appear the five-time Tony-winner has performed since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
She most recently acted in a few 2018 films — including Mary Poppins Returns — and appeared on Broadway in The Importance of Being Earnest in 2019. On TV, she was seen as "Aunt March" in the 2017 BBC miniseries Little Women.
Beyond that, Lansbury has occasionally given interviews, one of which produced this great quote from her about aging: "I've never been particularly aware of my age. It's like being on a bicycle – I just put my foot down and keep going."
Will Angela Lansbury have new movies and TV shows?
As for Lansbury's acting future, it remains a little unclear. But, for fans, there is hope for a new film. IMDb has Lansbury set to star in an upcoming movie titled The Adventures of Buddy Thunder.
The movie has been in pre-production for some time, and its future is a mystery, as Lansbury's co-star in the film Brian Dennehy passed away in April 2020. There hasn't been any news on the movie since then.
As Lansbury isn't on social media, we hope to hear from her or see her on screen again soon! Her most recent interview we could find was from 2020. She turned 96 years old on Oct. 16.
