Perry's death has sent shockwaves across the globe. The cause of his death remains a mystery, with the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office confirming that the autopsy results are pending a toxicology report. As of now, Perry's cause of death is listed as "deferred", indicating that further investigation is required.
The LAPD Robbery-Homicide Division, responsible for Perry's death investigation, has ruled out foul play for the time being. "The investigation is ongoing," they stated, declining to comment further.
Matthew's untimely passing has an answer
"We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother," Perry's family shared in a statement. "Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend. You all meant so much to him and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love."
Though an official conclusion isn't likely to be released for several weeks, the medical examiner's office said the body was ready to be released to the family.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, Perry was found deceased by a bystander in a freestanding jacuzzi. Despite immediate response, the actor was pronounced dead at the scene. TMZ reported that first responders were initially called for cardiac arrest and no drugs were found at the scene.

'Friends' co-creators Marta Kauffman, David Crane and executive producer Kevin Bright released a touching statement about the late star on Sunday.
"We are shocked and deeply, deeply saddened by our beloved friend Matthew’s passing," they said in a joint statement to People. "It still seems impossible. All we can say is that we feel blessed to have had him as part of our lives. He was a brilliant talent."
