Delilah Belle opens up about anxiety and drug use
Delilah Belle's health issues were a result of a few things, and speaking on her Instagram account, the 23-year-old described her experience this year in a lengthy video.
"This is scary to do," she said, noting that some people who she won't name didn't want her to speak on this. "Basically, in the beginning of the year, I want to say February and March, is when I got my COVID-19 vaccine."
"After the second vaccine, I was sick for, like, 36 hours. I felt like my bones were breaking," she continued. "That’s when everything kind of started."
Continuing on, Delilah Belle said that she was in the U.K at the time, and following an 11 hour flight back home, received her second dose of the Moderna.
Delilah Belle assured her fans she isn't anti-vax, but that she did have a negative reaction to her shots.
"Basically [it] flared up and triggered certain autoimmune diseases that I didn’t know I had," she said. "I started getting really sick, I started feeling like I had the flu. I was getting migraines, I was having panic attacks — it was like my body was in constant 'fight or flight' mode. It was horrible."
She then goes on to share she did consult various different professionals and doctors to figure out what was the cause of this and was eventually prescribed Xanax to help with her anxiety.
"For the panic attacks, they were so bad that I had to find a psychiatrist," she revealed. "I found this guy and he over-prescribed me." She claims she was prescribed to take three milligrams a day, and eventually her body became very dependant on the drug.
"I overdosed," she said, holding back tears. "I took Benadryl with it and, for some reason, I ended up in the hospital."
She continued, noting that she felt "helpless" from her anxiety and panic attacks, and sought treatment away from medication in a wellness facility in Arizona. "I had already come down on the Xanax. I wasn’t like a drug addict, but my body was dependant on it because of how much the doctor had prescribed me."
"I thought this place was gonna be, like, a place to cure me, cure everything, help me," she added. "Everything seemed to work. I cut down so much on my Xanax."
She clarified that because this facility wasn't a rehab center, she was politely asked to go home due to having seizures and declining health.
"My health is getting scary. … Unfortunately, I was I think a medical risk, so I was politely asked to leave after three weeks of being there," she said.
"Mentally, I am not great today. I’m feeling hopeless … since the last treatment center didn’t work out," she said, adding that her family is still trying to figure out how to go about helping her through these health battles.
Currently, Delilah Belle says she is suffering from Encephalitis, Epstein-Barr virus, and PANDAS.
