Christian Siriano is 33 years old but he actually came to prominence when he was in his early 20's after winning the fourth season of the reality television show Project Runway. In the series finale he presented a Musketeer-inspired couture collection which was described as a "breath of fresh air" by guest judge Victoria Beckham, and which earned him a fashion spread in Elle magazine, a 2008 Saturn Astra, and US$100,000 to start his own label.

The Maryland native's professional career has only been growing in the past years. His fashion line Christian Siriano debuted 11 years ago and his collections are shown each season at New York Fashion Week, as well as sold at department stores and boutiques all over the world. His work goes from fantasy evening gowns to cocktail dresses and tailored sportswear. His talent is such that he served as mentor for the designers in season 17 of Project Runway.

How was Christian Siriano's life before fame?
Siriano decided to audition for Project Runway after the suggestion of a friend's mother. Before doing so, he studied ballet and eventually began designing at the age of 13. Born and raised in Maryland, he always had the support of his parents, and used to work as a freelance make-up artist and wedding gowns designer for private clients. He also held a brief intern position at Marc Jacobs.
He attended Baltimore School for the Arts where he was allowed to choose fashion design as his main course of study. After being rejected by the Fashion Institute of Technology he studied abroad at American InterContinental University in London, where he began interning at Vivienne Westwood, and later, at Alexander McQueen, Siriano's favorite designer.
