The trio was previously self-isolating in Montana with Blackstock, who Clarkson recently filed for divorce from. And according to a source, it's important to the singer that her kids grow up in a stable home!

Clarkson "has a special relationship" with Blackstock's children
Clarkson actively wants to make sure River and Remington's upbringing is an emotionally healthy one! "She had to work through a lot of hurt from her childhood," the source said to People about Clarkson. "Her priority is making sure her children grow up in a stable, loving environment."
It isn't just her biological kids Clarkson cares about, either. People mentions that Clarkson is also close to Blackstock's children, Seth and Savannah. "She's always thought of Seth and Savannah as her own too, and she has a special relationship with both of them," the source revealed. "Kelly wants to remain close with her step-kids."

"I don't think you get rid of that," Clarkson told the magazine. "I have people in my life that suffer from addiction to certain things and that doesn't go away. It's always there. It's just navigating your life around that existence in your life."

Clarkson and Blackstock have "been like friends for a while," according to another insider, who also mentioned how the relationship between them became strained due to work demands.
