Grammy Award-winning singer Kelly Clarkson is not only in the middle of a very public divorce from her husband Brandon Blackstock, but her father-in-law's company, Starstruck Management Group, is now suing her! The company states that she owes millions to their managing group.
Kelly Clarkson Being Sued By Father-In-Law's Company Amid Divorce
Kelly Clarkson filed for divorce from Brandon Blackstock in June 2020, as the height of quarantining together showed the flaws in their relationship. Now, Brandon's father's managing group has filed a lawsuit against Clarkson, stating that she owes $1.4 million in unpaid commissions to the firm.
They allege that Clarkson has yet to pay the commissions that she's earned from The Kelly Clarkson Show and The Voice this year.
As Kelly Clarkson tries to find her way to be "Miss Independent" in her life again, the management group also alleges that she will owe $5.4 million by the end of 2020, according to Us Weekly.
Brandon and Kelly have two children from their marriage and are in the middle of working out custody agreements. Brandon has already sought for full both legal and physical custody of their daughter and son.
The pair had met originally back in 2006 but didn't pursue something romantic until 2012. They then wed in Tennessee in 2013, only to find themselves struggling to stay together seven years later. Kelly told Today in September 2020,
"My life has been a little bit of a dumpster ... personally, it's been a little hard the last couple months. I've been talking to friends that have been through divorce. I don't know how people go through that without having some kind of outlet because it is the worst thing ever for everyone involved."
We hope Kelly Clarkson's latest lawsuit gets resolved as soon as possible and that she can "Breakaway" from her tumultuous relations...
