• Jennifer Aniston and Jon Hamm co-star on 'The Morning Show'
  • An intimate scene caused a bit of discomfort for the actress
  • According to Aniston things got awkward with their on camera sex scene

Making movies is a lot like making love. It can go wrong very quickly and ruin the mood! In a world where intimacy coordinators are becoming the norm for filming bedroom scenes, these seasoned stars are throwing it back to the "olden days" and trusting their instincts, and each other!

Jen spills the tea!

In a candid chat alongside Reese Witherspoon with 'Variety' magazine, the ever-glamorous Aniston revealed that the duo opted out of the now-common practice of having an intimacy coordinator on set.

"They asked us if we wanted an intimacy coordinator. I'm from the olden days, so I was like, 'What does that mean? They said, 'Where someone asks you if you're OK,' and I'm like, 'Please, this is awkward enough!'"

In 2023, it’s very common for actors to utilize the services of an intimacy coordinator when they are shooting sex scenes. They are there to not only make everyone feel comfortable in what is usually a very awkward scene to film, but the actors have to consent to every move made on-camera.

It’s a safe space to voice their concerns and choreograph where hands, and other body parts, are going while they film. The actress, who broke into Hollywood during the early '90s, jokingly continued, "We're seasoned—we can figure this one out."

Aniston, 54, also credited the episode's director Mimi Leder and Hamm for making her feel "protected" on set, sharing that she "never felt uncomfortable" filming their intimate scene.

"Jon was such a gentleman, always – every move, every cut, ‘You OK?’" she gushed. Their on-screen romp was not just hot but also a masterclass in professionalism, with director Mimi Leder ensuring everything was tasteful and story-driven.

Two weeks ago, Hamm opened up with Jimmy Kimmel about another recent nude scene of his in 'Fargo', though this one wasn't an intimate scene. Instead, he was just hanging naked in a hot tub.

"I thought I had a rider in my contract [that said] naked is fine, cold naked is not great," Hamm said to Kimmel. "I'm more of a warm naked [guy]."

The plot thickens

The tension between Aniston's character, "Alex Levy", and Hamm's "Paul Marks" had been building for episodes. Finally, after a tension-filled interview on-screen, their characters took the plunge. But don't let the steam fool you! Paul Marks' true nature as a tech tycoon with a dark side added a delicious twist to the tale.

It's not just about the on-screen action. Aniston and Hamm's off-screen friendship, spanning over a decade thanks to mutual pal Paul Rudd, adds an extra layer of intrigue to their fiery on-screen dynamic. Reese Witherspoon, who also stars in the show, chimed in with a laugh about Rudd's unexpected role as a Hollywood connector.

Hamm then detailed that he word "a c--k sock, Jimmy," so his co-stars didn't have to see "the glory of God's creation" in all it's glory.

As the season unfolded, the complexities of Hamm's character left fans questioning his motives. Was he a villain or just misunderstood? Aniston playfully dubbed him "the Hammanator," hinting at the fun they had exploring these grey areas.

So, grab your popcorn and stream all episodes of 'The Morning Show' season 3 to witness the electrifying performance of Aniston and Hamm – no intimacy coordinators needed!
