Before becoming the cheerleader we all know and love from Glee, Heather Morris was born in California on February 1, 1987, and grew up in Arizona. As a young girl she fell in love with dancing and after briefly attending a local university, decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue her dancing career at the age of 19.
In 2006, she appeared on season 2 of So You Think You Can Dance, making it all the way to Vegas round and almost making the top 20 before she was cut. Refusing to give up, Heather finally got her break from Beyoncé, as a backup dancer on the singer's The Beyoncé Experience world tour and the "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" promotional tour. She even got to perform at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards in 2008! After smaller roles in films as a backup dancer, Heather landed the role of "Brittany" in 2009.
Heather as "Brittany" on Glee
Heather was originally asked to come on the show to teach the Glee cast the choreography to Beyoncé's "Single Ladies". The directors were still looking for a third cheerleader and Heather was there at the right time to land the spot! "Brittany" was originally a non-speaking role, but as the role grew she was given more lines.
By season 2 she had landed regular status, and had her first solo in season 2 episode 2 with "I'm a Slave 4 U". While Morris's character "Brittany" could sing, she wasn't the smartest and eventually failed out of high school, leading to fewer appearances from Heather following season 5.
Heather is a Mom Today
After Glee, the now 34-year-old Morris was one of the contestants in 2017's season 24 of Dancing with the Stars. But Heather's true dream was to become a wife and mother. In 2015, she married her longtime boyfriend Taylor Hubbell, a former college baseball player, and the couple has two adorable sons, Elijah and Owen.
