Ross Fleming Butler was born on May 17, 1990 in Singapore, but grew up in Washington, D.C. Acting wasn't the career path he started on, as Butler originally had a very different career choice in mind. He pursued a degree in Biomolecular and Chemical Engineering at Ohio State University.

However, he dropped out of school after a year, moving to Los Angeles in 2010. He ended up discovering his passion for acting after a friend gifted him an acting class for his 21st birthday.
