Elton John and Bernie Taupin received the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 2020 Oscars! Their song, "(I'm Gonna) Love Me Again," appeared in the Elton John biopic Rocketman in 2019. It was Sir Elton's second Oscar win, but the first for his longtime recording partner Bernie Taupin.
Elton concluded his acceptance speech onstage by thanking his "beautiful boys" - his two sons with his partner David Furnish. "How much do I love you? Daddy loves you," he said onstage.

Sir Elton's parenting priorities
In the Oscars press room, the singer told reporters that he immediately FaceTimed his sons after exiting the stage. "They're so happy," he explained.
Sir Elton then departed for his 28th Annual AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party. He said he'd also be FaceTiming with his sons on the drive there! His sons, Zachary and Elijah, are 9 and 7-years-old.

A busy night for Sir Elton at the Oscars
Elton John also performed his award-winning song, "(I'm Gonna) Love Me Again," earlier during the 2020 Oscars ceremony. The song appeared in Rocketman.
Backstage, Sir Elton said that the song's Oscar win was also dedicated to Rocketman's cast and creators: "I have one of these [Oscars] already, but I so wanted to get one for everybody involved in the film,” he explained. Taron Egerton portrayed the singer in Rocketman.
