Ellie met Michael Koman backstage on the talk show, Late Night with Conan O'Brien. Koman was a writer for Conan for seven years! At the time of meeting each other, both Kemper and Koman were staff intern writers for the late night talk show, and even appeared on a sketch together.
Michael also wrote for famed series like MADtv and was the head writer for Important Things with Demetri Martin. In 2017, he became a part of Saturday Night Live's writing crew, too, where he earned his 9th Emmy Award nomination for his contributions to the show.
All in all, Koman has received an impressive six Writers Guild of America awards throughout his career! Ellie must be proud! The pair became engaged in 2012 and married on July 7th, 2012 in NYC.
