Karen Gillan rose to popularity as Doctor Who's "Amy Pond" from 2010 to 2013. Born November 28, 1987 in Scotland, Karen always dreamed of acting and would get her start in smaller guest roles on British TV series like Rebus and The Well before landing a full-time spot on the hit BBC Sci-Fi series, Doctor Who, in 2009. 

Karen Gillan had actually made an appearance on Doctor Who before 2009, appearing in the Fourth Series episode "The Fires of Pompeii".

Karen Gillan assumed her full-time Doctor Who role of "Amy Pond" in 2009, with her first on-screen appearance airing in 2010's episode "The Eleventh Hour". Karen Gillan quickly rose to fame as the "Eleventh Doctor's"(portrayed by Matt Smith) primary companion and would stay in the role for the Fifth, Sixth, and much of the Seventh Series. 

Her on-screen performance was warmly received by both fans and critics alike, and she would receive a number of awards for the role including a Young Scots Award and TV Choice Award for Best Actress!

Karen Gillan's biggest American role by far, however, has been playing "Nebula" in a number of Marvel films like Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Avengers: Endgame (2019), and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023). 

More recently, the now 37-year-old starred in the American adventure film, Call of the Wild alongside Harrison Ford as well as the 2021 film Gunpowder Milkshake. For just turning 37, Doctor Who's Karen Gillan sure does have an impressive resume, and we look forward to seeing what the future has in store for the talented and gorgeous Doctor Who actress!
