Chrissy Teigen wants to make it known that she's done with dieting! In a new interview for the cover of People's Beautiful Issue, Teigen opened up about how adjusting her mindset when it comes to her overall well-being has been a positive thing for her.
Teigen talks about changing her relationship with food
Teigen said she used to focus on "dieting and diet culture," having gone through "ups and downs" as a result of this fixation. However, she said that she's now "thrown all of that out the window" to prioritize her own happiness! "I think now at this point in my life it's more important for me to enjoy things as they come," Teigen shared.
Instead of restricting herself when it comes to food, she says that she now "eats things when I want them"— as long as they make her feel fulfilled! "I kind of put my mind over body a little bit, mind and spirit over body," the entrepreneur explained. "If it's going to make me happy and make me feel good, then I indulge in it."
Teigen says playing with her kids is her favourite exercise
Teigen went on to explain that she didn't understand what her own personal well-being looked like for a long time, since she "lived a whole life" dependent on dieting. She told People that she "spent way too many years counting calories, scheduling way too many workouts and trying to figure out what my term for wellness was."
Now though, Teigen has come to realize what actually makes her happy and healthy— being active and getting out with her kids! "That is activity for me and I enjoy doing things like that," Teigen said. And when it comes to her downtime for self-care, she said she wants to "have fun with" her routine.
"I do appreciate a good sound bath and I'm learning to meditate," the star shared, mentioning that she occasionally does yoga and pilates. However, she admitted that she's "not necessarily a great meditator because I really think so, so much," and said her favourite form of exercise is playing with 4-year-old Luna and 2-year-old Miles!
