Britney Spears' dad Jamie Spears has been blaming everyone else for the conservatorship issues so now his co-conservator is exposing the truth to the court.
Jamie Spears Used $2 Million Of Britney's Money For HIS Defense
Ever since Britney Spears finally was able to testify for herself in her conservatorship, her father has been claiming he had nothing to do with her mistreatment and excessive control. He has now blamed Jodi Montgomery who was appointed co-conservator two years ago (much to Jamie's chagrin) for preventing him from understanding what Britney herself has actually wanted.
Jamie alleged that Jodi herself stopped him from contacting his daughter and being involved in decisions about her conservatorship. Jodi did not take these accusations lightly and submitted paperwork showing the reality of the situation and was upset he dared blame her for Britney's mistreatment. According to People, Jodi wrote in the documents filed, "It is ironic that Mr. Spears now wants the conservatorship to 'reflect her wishes,' since it is no secret that Ms. Spears has wished her father out of her life for years."
Jodi even added that Jamie personally used "more than $2 million of his daughter's money" to defend himself to be kept as the main conservator of his daughter even though Britney herself was not allowed to use her own funds for lawyers. Jodi hit back at his claims that he did not know what Britney wanted or that he was prevented from being involved in Britney's conservatorship decisions.

She wrote that it was impossible for him to not be aware as "everything costs money" and that "No expenditures can happen without going through Mr. Spears. Not every requested expenditure has been approved, leading to some of the concerns raised by Ms. Spears on June 23, 2021."
Montgomery said instead of playing the blame game, she and Jamie "should be working as a team to ensure that Ms. Spears' best interests are being met, that she is on a path to recover and termination of her conservatorship, and that she is living her best life possible. Instead, Mr. Spears has decided it is time to start the finger-pointing and media attacks."
It seems as if Jodi may be the first person involved in Britney's conservatorship to genuinely have Britney's best interest at heart. She has even just filed a petition for a guardian ad litem (a third-party advocate not chosen by Britney's father) to help Britney choose a lawyer of her own now that her court-appointed attorney resigned.
The documents filed show that Jodi decided to stay on board when she received a secret plea from Britney saying "I need u to stay as my co-conservator of person. I'm asking u for ur assistance in getting a new attorney." In Britney's own testimony it was revealed that she didn't even know she could file to end her conservatorship.
She told the judge directly, "Ma'am, I didn't know I could petition the conservatorship to end. I honestly didn't know that."
We will have to wait and see if the superstar will finally be able to gain back some control of her own life now that the #FreeBritney movement has emboldened those around her to come to her defense.
